Ligaya Esguerra
Registered Massage Therapist
Hello! I’m Ligaya
I’ve always been a curious person. I was born in Montreal, but raised on 2 different continents. The diversity of my experiences, combined with growing up globally, has fueled my deep love of learning and curiosity about the world and human nature.
My professional background had been in marketing and sales, and then one day I came across an article by the poet, David Whyte. In it he asked the question, “What can you be wholehearted about?” It was in exploring the answers to that question that I realized I wanted to work in an industry which helped bring more joy and ease into people’s lives. This led me to go back to school in 2008 to become a Registered Massage Therapist.
I have since worked in established multidisciplinary clinics alongside a team of other health professionals. Over the years I have trained in many additional courses, including the biomechanics of movement, prenatal and infant massage, retained primitive reflexes in children, cranial sacral therapy, reiki, cupping, acupressure, and myofascial release. I use these therapies in my treatments to help connect people back to their bodies. We work together to let go of restrictions and allow for more freedom and ease in movement.
In my spare time when I am not hanging out with my son and our community, I am constantly reading. I usually have at least 7 different books on the go. I enjoy everything from the newest fiction, to colour theory, or the latest discoveries in epigenetics, and always at least one new cookbook on global cuisine.
I am also newly working as an astrologer, looking at charts from a psychotherapeutic perspective. This helps to empower individuals to understand and meet all the different aspects of themselves with love and compassion.
Lastly, I’m in the midst of writing my first book!
